Draw it properly
An arbitrary plot outline, beds and paths with real widths, and a 0.5 m grid with snapping. A path 0.9 m wide covers 0.9 m of ground and is counted as such.
Garden plans, drawn to scale
Draw the plot as it really is, fill it from a catalogue of real plants, and see what it looks like on sloping ground before you dig anything.

Every plant carries its name, hardiness and size at maturity. Search the whole catalogue, or start from the plants you use most.
A read-only 3D view over sloping ground. Beds and paths follow the fall of the land; sheds and walls sit level on it.
Everything autosaves, named checkpoints let you go back, and restoring never destroys what you had — it takes a snapshot first.

Plant counts by species, bed area, metres of path, and how much of the plot is paved rather than planted.
The plant guide
Every plant in the catalogue has a page of its own: what it reaches in ten years, the aspect and the soil it will put up with, how hard a winter it takes, and the months it is actually in flower. It is the same record the planner checks your beds against, not a separate description written to be read.
3,267 pages across 166 plant families, browsable from a family to a genus to a species. Free to read, no account needed — and if you spot something wrong, the page itself takes a correction.
